Welcome to Atmospheres

What's it like at 4 Winds?
We wanted to use this 'Atmosphere' page to give you an idea of what it like being a part of 4 Winds Church. We have recently moved into the Anita Scott Elementary School in Royse City and we are excited about being a part of this growing community. Because we are in a school, our ministry is mobile. This means we set up for worship, children's ministries and everything in between each Sunday. We do not mind the extra effort because it forces us to remember that our faith was meant to be active and not hidden. This also means that the majority of our study groups happen off campus. We meet in homes, restaurants, coffee houses or any other place that will meet the need. Some meet on Tuesday evenings and others meet on Wednesdays. Still others meet on every other Monday.
What is the focus of our ministry?
We believe that the Lord has called every follower of Christ into a relationship with Himself and others. These relationships are inter-related. What we mean by that is that followers of Christ should be living out their faith in God in front of their friends. Christ has commissioned His followers to display God's love through relationships. Jesus cared for and still cares about people. Those that claim to follow Christ should have the same compassion. This means much more than giving money so someone else can go help those in need. According to scripture, if you love God you must love others. You can not love God and not love people. Loving people means getting involved and being real. It also means you are going to have to be 'out there'.
What you could expect to see if you came to visit.
First off you would notice that the atmosphere is not formal. So, I would suggest you come casual. The next thing you will notice is that everyone is friendly, so be prepared to shake hands and talk to some nice people. Something else you will find is that 4 Winds is a place that works to help people to 'do' ministry and not just 'watch' ministry. We believe that everyone is vital and that God can and wants to use each one of us to make a difference in this world. We want to help people to grow in their faith and find ways to express that faith. In connection with this we also have the desire to plant 5 new churches in 5 years. Since we have made this commitment we have seen one family move off to Africa to help start an orphanage and another family move to Florida to start a church.
We believe that God wants to use you as well. With God anything is possible. Do you believe? Do you have a desire to serve somewhere? Do you want to see change in your life and those around you? Do you want to get off the sideline and into the game?
Come and enjoy our atmosphere.
